AFTERCARE

IMMEDIATELY AFTER PROCEDURE:

  • The lips may be slightly swollen and result in minor bruising that only lasts for 1-2 days (recommended to use Arnica for faster healing).
  • The next day, the color of the tattoo will darken as scabs begin to form, there may still be some swelling or minor bruising.
  • Scabbing will fall off within 3-10 days depending on your skin type and lip blush style desired.

DAY 1:

  • Lymph and fluids will leak from the tattoo to start forming scabs. Not cleaning these fluids properly may result in thicker scabbing. Wash your lips every hour with a wet cotton round and pat the area dry. Make sure not wipe!

DAY 2-10:

  • Make sure to always touch your lips with clean hands to avoid risk of infection.
  • Keep the lips moisturized with the provided ointment. You may moisturize as often as you'd like.
  • Do not smoke until the lips are healed.
  • Don't pick scabs and let them fall off naturally or pigment may not heal properly. You don't want to over moisturize or keep the lips wet for too long (facials, swimming, saunas, and steamy showers).
  • Avoid direct sun exposure.
  • Do not get any facials, Botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks post appointment date.

AFTER YOUR LIPS ARE DONE SCABBING:

  • Once the scabs have completely fallen off, you may apply makeup over the area and return back to your normal routine. The complete healing process takes 6 weeks for the final color of the tattoo to appear.
  • Please note that your tattoo will be softer and not as crisp when healed.
  • Results will vary with each individual as different skin types and lifestyles play a factor. Please remember that it may take more than one session to achieve your desired result.

LONG TERM CARE:

  • Applying a lip balm containing SPF may enhance the likelihood of retaining the pigment in your tattoo.

DOES IT HURT?

Numbing products that contain lidocaine and epinephrine are used during the procedure for your comfort. If you have any allergies to these ingredients, please let us know beforehand.

Please note there is some discomfort to be expected even with numbing, however this is more gentle than a traditional tattoo and your comfort is our top priority.
